PrestaShop 1.6.x. How to manage “TM Category Products” module

This tutorial will show you how to manage TM Category Products in Prestashop 1.6.x.

1. Open the site admin panel and navigate to Modules and Services > > Modules and Services > TM Category Products > Configure section;

   

2. On the page that opens you will be able to see and edit the existing category items and add more.

3. Click on the “Edit” button to manage the existing category products;

   

4. You can set the following configuration for this section:

   • Status – enable/disable the category products on the frontend.

   • Select a category – choose the needed category among a dropdown.

     

   • Use name in front – displays the name of the section on home page.

   • Select products to display – allows to add specific products to display.

     

   • Numbers of products to display – the number of products to display on the frontend.

   • Let’s change the number of products on a home page. As you may see, it is set to 3.

     

   • Set it to 6 and save the edits:

     

   • Check the changes on the frontend.

     

   • Use carousel – enable/disable carousel view.

   • Visible items – the number of visible items per row.

     • Let’s change the number of visible items. As you may see, it is set to 3.

       

     • Set it to 6 and save

     • Check the changes on the frontend.

       

   • Items scroll – select the number of items to be scrolled per click.

   • Slide Width – sets slider width.

   • Slide Margin – increase/decrease space between items.

   • Auto scroll – allows items to be scrolled automatically

   • Carousel speed – Slide transition duration (in ms)

   • Pause – the amount of time (in ms) between each auto transition.

   • Random – starts carousel on a random item.

   • Carousel loop – shows the first slide after the last slide has been reached.

   • Hide control at the end – control will be hidden on the last slide.

   • Pager – displays pager settings.

   • Control – Prev/Next buttons.

   • Auto hover – Auto show will pause when mouse hovers over slider.

5. We will add a new “TM category product” block to the home page. Click on the Add new tab;

   

Feel free to adjust available options to your needs. Set status to “Yes”, category – “Home”, number of products to display – 10, use carousel – “Yes”, visible items – 5, control – “Yes”.

Save and check the changes.
