This tutorial will show you how to disable certain content for specific user roles in Magento.

  1. Let’s see how you can set up new users in your Magento store and allow them the necessary access to features within the Magento CMS. First you need to go to your Magento admin panel and navigate to System -> Permissions -> Roles section. There you can edit previously created roles or add new ones. To edit one of the available roles, you just need to click on the one you wish to change. In order to create a new one, simply click “Add new role” button in the top right corner.

  2. While editing the already existing role or creating a new one you will find the complete list of all the resources available in the Resources tab. Check or uncheck the checkboxes near the content types you want to enable or disable for a role, and then save the role by clicking the Save role button in the top right corner.

  3. Now you have a user role with the restrictions for content editing.
