How to create FTP user with limited access

GoDaddy hosting manager:

1. Open your GoDaddy Hosting Control Panel and press “add user” in FTP section

2. You will get new page with FTP user list, press “Add FTP User” button once more

3. You will get the fields for FTP username, password and the folder to access, fill in the information required and press “save” button.

cPanel (WebHost Manager, WHM)

1. Open your cPanel control panel and press “FTP Accounts” button under “Files” section

2. You will get new page with the details to fill in to create new FTP user: username, password and the folder

3. The directory will be automatically set to your username but you can easily change it. Press “Create FTP Account” and you will get new FTP user with access to specified folder only
