In order to configure a product listing layout, you should perform the following steps:

1. Log into the Magento Admin with your login credentials.

2. Navigate to System -> Configuration:

   

3. Click on catalog menu and choose Frontend:

   

4. Choose the needed layout under the List mode tab.

   List Mode is set to “Grid Only” by default:

   

5. Save the changes:
